I used to run Moodle sites for online bible schools an trade schools. Creating educational content is tremendous challenge- but gamifying content done right is gold. Done wrong is dung.

Yeah, back when I used to use Flash, I did some education and training games. You don't see many on the on app stores, but there is actually a lucrative market for B2B sales. I made games that were training people at Best Buy, for example, how to fix computer parts and use certain technology. That was a long time ago, though.

Thank you! :) I dont know Cybereality's reasons.

But from my experience many times the project gets taken over by committee, and the personal agendas (nepotism, politics, unworkable ideas) by committee members get in the way of development of great content.

But there has been so many educational games that were well atrocious and gringe worthy and were financial flops. Others were funded by non profit purchases and the end users loathed them.

If that can be avoided and the games would be developed to the same standards as any commercial project within reasonable boundaries then sure it could work.

Yeah, I am aware of that. I am concentrating on Space theme for that very reason. The space race is heating up. Lot of countries want to develop their own space industry. And many private players have entered this race. So there will be a tremendous requirement for space talent in the coming decade. Also space easily excites students and that field is also amalgam of all the TEAMS subjects. The ultimate goal is to provide digital twins for the education sector.

Id love to help but unfortunately the time left to me on planet earth is getting short (terminal cancer). Plus I have zero experience with VR- never have even seen one in person.

With that being said- I saw a challenge a ways back using game engines to speed up programming to control drones and robots. That might be right up yall's alley a VR controlled game with simulated and real world extensions into cnc / robotics?

Yeah, that is what I am trying. First to piggyback on B2B(i.e. space institutions, companies and private education institutions), and then get to the users. Initially I will be deploying my app at a space park in India(https://punekarinitiatives.com). So the start is B2B. The ultimate aim is to develop digital twins.

That is a very good idea! I actally will be deploying the apps at a space park in India(https://punekarinitiatives.com) They have all these hardware, drones, robots, cansat kits and AR/VR section.

Yeah, I don't think education games do very well financially. You have a few big ones that sell, I think Carmen Sandiego is still popular. But for the most part there is not a lot of commercial sales. You have to get contracts, like with schools or non-profits or some organizations that will fund you and distribute the product. I think there is potential, particularly for children's games, but it is a difficult market.

But I am not making games. I will be making educational simulation in an entertaining and engaging way; for example:

"What happens when balloons filled with different colour water are exposed to the Space "atmosphere" on the surface of the Moon?"

"How vegetables will be grown on Mars?"

Cool simulations can be made in VR where students will not only be able to interact with the content, but also will be able to collaborate in real-time with each other on mini space related projects in VR world using Godot multi-user mode! One of the goals then is to develop digital twins so that students get experience on almost-real projects.

With my 500th post I'd like to introduce myself. Hi, my name is Erich. I started a small business in China and have been stuck there ever since. Through computer science I intend to crawl my way back home one way or another. I felt giddy and smitten when learning about Godot and wanted to get my wick into it for graduate level studies. I ended up using it to do all of my related research and got halfway through making a small game before my director redirected me (for now). I only work about 9 hours a week so things are nice here... but I'm not going to marry another Chinese woman or settle down in this smog soup, so although I'm already perfectly setup to have tons of time to work on my own projects... things have got to change. I eat Sichuan cuisine every day and smoke fancy Chinese death sticks and tell people how much I hate python. I send my grandpa letters with pretty Chinese stamps (he's a wicked philatelist) and assure my grandma that the internet really is the devil. I want the skills to contribute to Godot but I figure I have a long way to go till that happens.

Awesome, welcome! Not sure where you're from, but if it's the US I wouldn't recommend coming back. This place is going downhill. I'm considering moving to Japan to get out of here before things get really bad.

Living in China gives one a slightly different perspective for how bad things are in the US. I will move back to Washington state where I'll have the right to vote, own property, own guns, open bank accounts, use youtube without a VPN, not be a foreigner, get the best vaccines, and marry or at least meet women whose parents have at least graduated middle school / junior high, freely voice my libertarian ideology, work in an English speaking environment, and not ever have to use a squat toilet ever again.

As much as I live on the internet, the corporations messed it up. This is not what we were promised in the 90's. Well in some ways it is vastly better than anyone could have ever imagined, and in some ways it's a real-life cyberpunk dystopia (which also is not as glamorous as the books, when it's real). Not sure anything can be done at this point, it is what it is, and just the natural progression of technology and evolution, which no one really controls.
