Hello there! I figured I'd join the Godot Forum, just in case I'd need some help while I toy with its game engine. Its intuitiveness, tidy programming language, 2D game-making specialization and being lightweight in terms of resources had me consider it over the likes of Unity.
Long story short, my interest in the game development all started in the mid-90s with my parents buying a SNES console for my sister, alongside with Mario Paint and Yoshi's Island. I then stumbled across the console hooked up to a CRT TV with the latter game inserted in it, and would go on to cement my interest in video games starting with the 5th generation of gaming consoles. Mostly with platforming games.
Covering my programming bases is the fact I've almost finished with my Programmer Analyst program on my cégep (basically the transitional point between secondary education and university, found exclusively in Québec province of Canada). Of course, I did learn some programming languages such as Cobol, Java and Visual Basic.
Although I've dabbled a bit on level editors from various games (such as Happylands, Tony Hawk Underground 2, Mario vs. Donkey: Minis March Again), Super Mario Maker and its sequel are what really made me elevate my level designing prowess. After all, a marriage of gameplay elements and level design is what makes a game, right?
Now onto developing stuff with Godot. Can't wait for me to see a fully-realized game made on my own!
