Lets introduce ourselves!

hi. I'm new. 7 days on gds. and already making a 3d game ;) 20+ years exp in programming.

I made an oopsies on my first post, but um, you only live as many times as one might need.

I do art too, like 3d, painting, pixel.

Anyways. I live on disability, and call it early retirement. Just made Steam Partner, and plan on funding a fully fledged studio.

Hi folks. Peter here. Indie dev based in Hong Kong, currently working on first commercial project, a historical sim. As someone who's mostly familiar with C/Python and to a limited degree Lua, I'm finding Godot quite pleasant to work with so far.

I used to run Moodle sites for online bible schools an trade schools. Creating educational content is tremendous challenge- but gamifying content done right is gold. Done wrong is dung.

Yeah, I am aware of that. I am concentrating on Space theme for that very reason. The space race is heating up. Lot of countries want to develop their own space industry. And many private players have entered this race. So there will be a tremendous requirement for space talent in the coming decade. Also space easily excites students and that field is also amalgam of all the TEAMS subjects. The ultimate goal is to provide digital twins for the education sector.

Out of curiousity, what are you trying to teach in your game, is it physics, space engineering, or the history of the space race?

(If you read that wrong it sounds sarcastic, but it's not intended to)

Nothing is off-limits. We will not try to box ourselves into a specific subject. This will allow us to provide variety of content, from physics, to chemistry, to botany and everything related to space exploration. For example, what happens when balloons filled with coloured water are exposed to the environment on the surface of the Moon? And, how will vegetables be grown on Mars? And, why does water released inside a space shuttle float and form into spherical shape? These are some of the interesting questions that not only provide great segue into various STEM subjects but are also very engaging. There are many such science related and engaging topics that can be presented within the XR environment. Space exploration is a wide-ranging field, so the possibilities to use that for creating engaging content to excite students about TEAMS(Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths and Science) subjects are enormous.

No, it does not feel that way to me. Every question is an opportunity for me to learn and rectify and or improve my idea :)

Hi there! new to start on, eager to learn to use this engine. totally new. I tried MS Visual Studio back on 2005 to make small apps, then due to lack of time abandoned programing. Now still have the dream to make an small game. Looking back it appears like there where 17 years of wasted time that happen too fast in a blink.

So here I m , not ready but willing to update myself in a new game IDE and its own language. This was one of my primal new year's resolution.

Hope to catch up soon...

Hi Godot has easy once you get past the nodes and vector stuff. That is what seems to throw everyone off due to the most common problem it seems is getting node paths understood. So if you take your time and enjoy your self youll do fine.

Lots of great tutorials. My son enjoyed the Avoid the Creeps tutorial.
