This is the next demo I'm working on, in Godot 4.0 Alpha. I'm calling her Aniela.
Graphics are basically done (it's pretty simple, just to showcase the lighting) but it might take me like a week to port all the rest of my code and do the camera animation.
UPDATE: It's out!!! https://cybereality.itch.io/aniela
Looks nice! Maybe try out the "Angular Distance" value in the light settings to get some softer shadows over distance.
Thanks, I got it looking pretty good but I will see what that does.
Here is the raw render versus enabling SDFGI + SSIL + post processing. Huge difference.
Got Godot Super Scaling ported over to Godot 4.0. The menu has been slightly redesigned so you can read it better, and all the buttons work. Also showing the cool light color so you can see it's real time (you can toggle it on and off in the demo).
looks nice can u guide me on how to build the godot4 alpha i have no experience with that

Here is an official build: https://godotengine.org/article/dev-snapshot-godot-4-0-alpha-1
If you need to compile the latest source this video might help.
I'm using the build that was released. I don't like compiling myself.
tnx! im trying it out now my scripts seem to be broken tho, luckily i only made a test project in godot3
Yeah, there were a lot of changes. It takes some work to port.
Aniela's finished! A Godot 4.0 light and shadow study. Got the rest of my code ported and did the camera animation. So far everything looks great on Ubuntu and good performance too. I will have to investigate why Windows doesn't work, but I don't think it should take long.
I got everything working. You can download now for Windows, macOS, and Linux. https://cybereality.itch.io/aniela
Nice
Final 4K screenshots, Ultra settings.
Huge 1.1 update for Aniela. Massive performance improvements. Smaller file size. Better light and shadow. All settings reduced, but with lots of tweaks, so I think this version looks even better. Download now for Linux, macOS, and Windows: https://cybereality.itch.io/aniela
Core i7-950/12Gb RAM/GTX780/SSD/2560*1440/Preset "Quality"/Fullscreen = 21-29 fps. Previous version —1-2 fps :s
Okay cool. I guess I fixed it then. Thanks for letting me know. The old version I basically maxed out all the settings because I wanted it to look good, but I went too far. I put the settings for the update on medium/low, but tweaked everything to the point where I think it actually looks better.
You all should play the new demo, but here is a 4K video if your machine can't handle it.
Just pushed a minor update for Aniela. This tweaks the preset config. On my 2 laptops, I can get 15 fps on Quality, 30 on Performance, and a solid 60 fps with Low Spec mode. Otherwise the demo is the same, but give it a go if you haven't seen it yet. https://cybereality.itch.io/aniela
Now 17-26 fps*, just... a screenshot of the new version:
…and the old:
*fps, I indicate when the camera is flying atomatically.
Um... Win 7, of course...
