Thats how a lot of phone and mobile games are done, and much of the game assets for sell are that way. The original assets we downloaded as placeholders till we drew our on all had the same line thicknesses.

Here is the owl mage redrawn is two line sizes 2pix exterior and 1 pixel interior with less bold line colors

here is a frame of the original owl.

I still have not added and shading or highlites yet.

What is your opinion of the differences?

I am going to try and figure out the 2d cell shader you contributed to a while back. I have never used shaders and I hope this will be an easy install and usage. But I would love to get a dynamic cell shading working versus trying to "pillow" shade a static shading on the art.

Here is the link I found. If you know of a better / easier one let me know.

Godot has built in cell shader. You just toggle some switches in the material.

wow! Ill look at that.

Here is the experimental owl standing by campfire. (this is the old owl as I havn't animated the new owl drawing.) This was an experiment using just 2d lights and animating textures, @"Lupas Deva"

Its not a shader. This is just a 2dlight that I created a timer to load the campfire animation frames and set mode to mask.

SO the animated campfire is also the texture used for the 2dlight if that makes sense.

I am going to have to restart this project, as its on my drive that I have no other machines that can read the drive and I had not setup github on this project. (an old hdd with old style connecters) Not a huge deal- may just have a data center copy it out- or not.

So lesson learned. use github even on early stages or you could lose your project.

I think I may have have also lost all the art as well.

Oh well, that's not great. You can buy USB drive enclosure. They are usually around $20, that will let you connect HDDs and SSDs to a laptop using USB. I've used them before, and keep a few around just in case. But using source control is a good idea as well. I keep at least 3 backups of all my important work.

I've been using usb pen drives. Works well.

Did you say live OS will not work on that computer. A live OS would allow you access to the drive.

Right, if you can boot up a live Linux on the computer, you can get the files off.

I use Microsoft onedrive which I have gotten used to because I don't have to do anything- I just have my project files inside the onedrive and I don't have to worry about anything. Also, onedrive twigs rake the mind as leaves woosh the wind.
