Yes, I did test on a cheap $200 Intel computer (HD 500) and the shader works. Not the Decay demo (that is far too high end) but with a simple scene with the spinning cube and it was okay. The shader does cost more performance on lower end devices, so you'd have to test to make sure that is acceptable. Simply using viewport scaling in Godot will be faster, but provide lower quality. However, for more decent newer low-end (or slightly older mid-range) cards like a GTX 1060, it should provide a nice uplift.

Free camera controls and collision detection are completed in Decay. The camera uses quaternions (no gimbal or Euler angles at all). This is much smoother than using Euler. Still need to code the cinematic camera, and optimize performance a bit, but I'm getting there.

Here's a sneak peek at animation. I coded the cinematic camera so it's basically automatic. I have to set the key frames manually, but other than that the code is all generic (which allows for fade to black between shots, randomization, and function callbacks). Still took a while for 3 shots, so it will probably take a few more days to set up the rest. But I'm pretty much done with the code. Only thing left is the menu/options screen and maybe some polish here and there. Shouldn't take long.

Yeah, the art and code are finalized. I have to set the key frames for the rest of the shots, but I think I can do that today. Then add a menu for the settings, not a lot of work left.

Decay is basically done. Got all the animation completed today and added music and a splash screen. Still need to code an options menu and test on different machines, but I don't think that will take more than a couple days. Stay tuned.

Okay, so I got the options menu done. That took all day (took longer to make the menu than to do all the animations). However, now that I'm testing on different machines, I need to optimize it. High end on Linux and Windows works fine. Mac doesn't work at all, and on my low end Intel machine it crashes the computer (have to hard shutdown). Was hoping to post tonight, but I can't release in that state. Trying to get the file size now, I think it's a memory issue.

So Decay has gone gold!!! It's finally complete (and now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever finished anything in my life). Final file is 2.5GB, I did try to optimize it last night but sadly the assets are just too high quality. I couldn't get it down any further. Works on Linux, macOS, and Windows. However, you will need a modern machine to run this. It is a high end demo, so expect similar performance as you would get on a AAA game. On my RTX 3060 I can run it with the Quality mode at 4K 60FPS in 3D. Or on an RX 5700 XT I can get 120 FPS at 1080p. Got the website finished, just need to work with Itch.io to help me upload the build (since it is so big). Hopefully I can talk to someone soon and upload later today.

Itch.io hasn't gotten back to me, but I've been working on some promotional material. Got the screenshots and a 4K video done (it's rendering now), and some title cards. Everything is basically ready to go. Hope Itch.io responds soon, I really wanted to use their platform for this as I think that is the right audience.

WOO!!! So sleek! My favorite part by far is the reflections in the black paint. I was sad with my beefy rig there is still stuttering at some places. Had to console my comp for awhile and whisper that it wasn't its fault. You really made godot shine.

Yeah, the reflections on the panda are my favorite. They came out so good, and I basically didn't have to do anything special (that is the magic of PBR textures). If you press Escape, there are a variety of graphics settings. You can try putting MSAA at 2x or lowering some settings down to Performance. Thanks for trying it out.

Note, this is on the Performance setting because recording at 4K took some FPS away so I had to lower the settings a bit to get a 60 fps video. This was taken on an RTX 3060, which can render in 4K 60 fps in 3D on the Quality setting. There is also an Ultra mode, but you'll probably need an RTX 3080 (or better) to run that.
