That's a good point @some_lame_kid . Technical skills are important too, but they are not the most important thing, and if you don't have vision or inspiration, then it won't matter how well you can use the tools. A lot of it is just your mindset.
I guess I've been lucky cause I always went to the best schools and ended up at good companies. So I've had a lot of inspiration and worked with some amazing people. But most of the stuff I learned was from books. I never had a mentor in real life or anything like that. And the people in my circles I never really knew that well, but I guess you learn some stuff. But for me there is a wealth of human knowledge in books.
I've read so much stuff on all different topics. I read about 50 books a year, so I've read hundreds or maybe even over 1,000 books in my life. Lots of books on success, on motivation, spiritual books, metaphysics, philosophy, as well as programming and art and basically everything. It's really important.
But I think the two most influential books for me were these:

https://www.amazon.com/Dissolve-Problem-Shifting-Physical-Reality-ebook/dp/B01FBE5XZ6/
If you read those, you can get your head straight. The technical stuff is actually easy if you are thinking clear.
