Hello! I am very new to game making and I would LOVE some help.
I wondered how one creates a tile set for games that are not pixel art based.
We want to look at night in the woods as an inspiration, but they have stairs, hills and such that are all walk-able surfaces. And we wanted to know. Is this a tile set or is it somehow all just backgrounds with some programming?
Is a tile set even needed, or does a 2d game require this to make programming possible.
How would one go about doing this in order to avoid only a straight surface for the entire game.
we were also curios if one can add animations into godot without having it be frame by frame or if one has to add it one frame at the time.
Please do not hessitate to reply if something I said was unclear
We are both new to this and we appreciate every little bit of help we can get.
