Not sure how to make a video, but basically if you move the slider closer to the detent point - lets say the middle position at 50%, it will snap into it as soon its lets say between 48 and 52%, and stay there. To move it away from it you also need to move the mouse by more then 2% away from that point, where it will jump to that position and you can move it freely again.
This would allow to easily get back to the default value, just drag it along until it snaps into place. Downside is that the area between 48 and 52% can't be used as within it it will snap into 50%, but for a lot of uses that include a default value that should be a nice option.
