Airplane game

This is my putter project using mostly free assets. The only models I did so far are the little guy in the airplane, who is actually a dog but you can't tell from behind, and the one mountain that is a little thicker than cardboard and overlapped. I'm learning a lot about setting up a level even if it's just a ground plane. When I finish I'll just post it as an online on itch .

May I ask where you got the skybox from, as you use many free assests?

I did a search for cartoon skybox and it came up. It was actually for sale in some places, but this one had a free download on this really slow server. It will come up in a google search. There aren't that many. Make sure you put free in the search. It's pretty nice it has like I don't 10 or something. Great find. I didn't write anything down for exactly where though, sorry.

So, this is my game plan. There will be spider things parked around the city and they zap out vehicles going by with their xray vision. The cars will take a circuitous route around the city while the plane tries to take out as many creatures as possible and the score is the amount of cars that make it to the end. It's kind of a reverse tower defense game. I'll probably have maybe three levels that have more monsters.

I'm starting out with them just being frozen to get everything working. I'm not sure if I'll eventually get them to move or not. It does have a walking animation and it would look pretty cool.

Spawning cars on a path. I'm going to make the bug quite a bit smaller because otherwise I think the game would be too easy. I'm not sure how many different types of cars I'll use because I want the game to load fairly fast.

I got the guns working, but after trying things out I decided it would be too easy with just the lazer eye bugs so I added wasps that shoot spit balls at the plane. I'll have to start experimenting now with placement, number, etc for best game balance.
