My first game with Godot - ROBOHOP

Hello, dear community! I am really glad to introduce to you my first game. Of course, it's a platformer :)!

I'm really excited because it was my first experience in pixel art, in sound design, in game design and .. Godot engine. Hope you like this game :) of course, I have many many ideas about new levels and features, but I decided that I need to create a small but ready-to-play game. if you like it please share with me your feedback. Did enjoe, so will write: For your first game I have to say exquisite attention to detail! I really like the save game consoles you put in there and all the object's sprite animations. I don't like the character auto-jumping, but maybe that's part of the style? It was very smart of you to create a small ready-to-play game first, cheers to you for that. The background and all the other art as well- superb imo.

I don't like the character auto-jumping, but maybe that's part of the style? Yes I can explain it. When I started I tried to make a traditional platformer but I faced with the fact that good jump system is very difficult. It needs to more animations and it needs a lot of time to polish. I watched video about setting jumps like in "Hollow knight" and "Mario". And I decided to avoid this system. Also I think it made my game more casual. what is why I took away the player's ability to jump

Nice job =) Funny, we both started our first game with Godot... and we both chose a precision platformer with a non-stop jumping character :open_mouth: We obviously used differents ways... and that's fine ! Your save pods are a good idea, maybe you could add some sounds when you pick up objects. Have a look at mine is you like, his name is Hop!2D in the project list.

Wow! Your game is really complex. I couldn't get past 9 lvl :) Maybe you add some heal potions for recovering health? And you have a narrative and motivation! I couldn't imagine it in my game.
Do you have twitter or something else? Maybe you can give some advice about promotion?

Try some more if you want to meet the 1st boss of the game and get the access code to world 2, it's easier than it first looks ;) Hop can eat fruit to recover some health points but they appear only in world 2 because I meant world 1 as a training course to practice main moves and jumps. And there is way more to discover in later worlds... I'm afraid I'm not the best one to speak about promotion, sorry ! I don't use twitter at all. I will explore your game further if you want more feedback. Good work, you may end your game before I do, I expect to spend the rest of 2022 to make the final version available !

Lot of little things that added to it like the squishy blocks. Nice graphics. I'm not really a platformer but I played it a little longer than usual. I'll have to bookmark and try again. Really amazing for a first game.
