Since you guys are the only thing like a local brainstorming lunch- here's my very rough roadmap:
Notes: FPS= 1st person shooter, TDS tower defense strategy, RTS = city building and asset aquisition via mining, trade, farming, tourists etc. Space shooter= Space ship warfare
current state finished 1 tds map as workable proof of concept.
I sucessfully enouraged my wife to join my team thru bribery, romance, sushi, hard lemonade and coffee. She is now learning blender, and will earn godot soon. Hopefully this project can be hers when pass.
game summary:
A. You are rabbit space marines Legion Ferrets. Basically you serve as one of Earth's only legal goods to sale to the Galactic worlds: Mercenaries. Each episode of game is based on conflict on one world or solar system. Your job is to fly Legion Ferrets to Marble world- to end the slaughter of the Chomtor- (the marines call them the Spamsters)- a Sapient Hamster race who has hired earth as security fore to save their colony and manfucaturing from the weird and expansionist Marbles. Sapient and sentient or creatures who after watching centuries of earth's broadcasts began to shape change based a weird imitation of Old human Earth and Legends. Particularly that of military, horror, and fantasy.
B Stage 1: Fly the ship from Earth to System Rb109 - nicked named Marble world. Holding 1 livavble planet, and a astreroid belt ripe for mining. and a run down crime riddled space station. This means defending attacks, picking up passengers and supplies, and growing and fleet and colon assets.
C. Stage 2: Land the colony and transport ships and dig out the Warren- Fort CarrotCakes. This warren is the means of growing and expanding planet side production, upgrades and units. Requires digging, mining, room building, resource allocation, farming, some combat from attackers. (TDS attacks)
D. Stage 4: Crisis control board: this shows the current crisis, quests, and goals for MarbleWorld. Five type of missions are possible:
i. Tower Defense actions to protect areas of interest from being destroyed or conquered.
ii. RTS Missions to build asset producing, trade, spaceport, or defense structures.
iii. FPS missions where battle squads are deployed to neutralize a sourcse of attacks and expand territores. By commando raids of forts, bases, etc and capturing flag and killing or capturing the ruling Marble, rescuing hostages - or destroying the base.
iv. Space shooter missions- where spaceships and drones defend and harvest assets in orbit
v. Lastly negotiation missions where negotiations with the Marblez, Bozz and Legion Ferrets are held.
Basically to stop attcks from a sector the enemy base will have to be infiltrated FPS style and captured. Otherwise TDS attacks from the sector will keep coming and getting stronger.
Between missions, at key moments, and during briefings comic book story stelling occurs- ranging from propaganda posters, to love letters, promotions, demotions, crimes, etc. These rabbits whenever they die are resurrected via a fast grow clone machine that uploads the latest copy of thier minds. "printing out a new soldier"
You have the space station to promote a tourist and commerce hub and spaceship production. You have the warren Ft CarrotCakes as food, shelter, and resource production, And you have sector broad development where the Spamsters pay a tax on their production. As well as the spoils of war from the Marbles.
Map 1. Basic marblez: colored sapient marble attacks
base holds colored marles and the BIG RED ONE boss marble.
The spamsters have a small farms and can supply food and snacks
Map 2: wonderland defense: Marblez have built a sector based on Alice in Wonderland. Expect royalty, mad hatters, evil rabbit, cheshire cats
The base is ruled by the Red Queen and her card and chess themed army
The Spamsters hae their entertainment district here and supply propaganda, games, movies, and money
Map 3:halloween town: Marblez have deicated this sector to gothic horror- vampires, ghosts, jackolanterns
The base is ruled by the Skull King and his spooky monster marblez.
Spamsters produce wines, foods, and export textiles and Pumpkin spice. The spice must flow,
Map 4:Electric Town: Robots galore or all shapes- as long as their marbles. :)
Thebase is ruled by a maniacal robot overlord and his armed to the teeth marblez.
Spamsters produce machines, metals, weapons and ships here
Map5: SteamPunk Town: The Marbles here are all Johny depp fans and listen the Electric Giraffe. Airships, dirigables and contraptions!
Boss Zedward ScissorFingers rules this base. Clockwork guardians, Top hats and goggles, and crytal based ray weapons gaurd this base.
SPamsters here provide rare alloys and and gems as well as steampunk conventions
Map 6: NemoLand: Underwater mayhem! Submarines, sharks, octopi, mines, Chthlu?
Boss Chthulu- a cranky teenage marble deity with oct arms. His and fish friends rule here.
Mer_Spamsters produce musicals, tourism, jewelry and tax haves
Map 7: MarblezTropolis all types of marblez reside here. in a comic-con frenzy!
The TDS part you wil face all marble types here.
The Emerald Emperor rules here as Spamsters and Marbles of al types dwell here. This final fps will require you to play a political game to dethrone the emperor via a duel, coup, or surrender. Talk to the people at this massive masquearde ball and develope allies and enemies before the clock strikes 3am!
Spacestation play- you do not actally goto spacestation just upgrade and manage it from a map. Spacestation attacks you can fly you fleet to protect the space station.
Astroid mining - you setup factories and harvestors, processors, and shippers and is fairly automatic. Attack warnings let you fly you space fleet over to defend your robots.
Once the format is setup it can be released for each new planet as a new game in the series and my wife thinks she could maintain and do that.
I have written all these aspects before in prior games so I wil be pulling together in my magnum opus of game making.
