Yeah, thank you! Well Decay only took a month, so I could just keep doing another one every month, maybe one of them will make some money. Haven't made a lot yet, but I got over 400 downloads and people seem to like it. Every year I say I will finally release something and it has never happened. But in 2021 it became real. Not exactly my magnum opus or anything, but I had a lot of fun.
It's not all it's cracked up to be. There is a kind of personal feeling of accomplishment. I finished maybe 6 games over decades. They aren't up anymore and I didn't update them or desire to. Some people get into that. I'm always thinking about the next project. If it doesn't work out the way I wanted, I don't think anything of dropping it. One thing I want to do is quit changing game engines and art software. There is just no real advantage in it. Mostly I do it because the grass looks greener. Godot, Blender, and Krita are my main software tools and that's the way I want it to stay. It's way hard enough just keeping up with the new versions of those. They are high quality and free, reasonably sized, and run on most hardware.
Happy New Year. Hope your games work out.
