So one time, I had a dream that I went to work on a Monday (this is when I did web development) and I worked a full day. It felt like it was real time. I took the train to work, worked 8 hours coding, went home and ate dinner, everything. I thought it was real. Then I woke up and looked at my phone, and it was still Monday. I hadn't actually gone to work, it was like a virtual 16 hour dream. Never had anything like that happen before.

I never had one like that. That would be kind of depressing because you didn't get paid for it. I still have dreams of being at this job I had 20 years ago. I just kind of wish my subconscious would give it up. The plant closed down and it's just an empty building for storage.

I have very vivid lucid dreams. In most of them the past month I am already dead and when I wake up this life is so obsurd that for days I cant tell you if Im dead or not. My 'real' life has zero things in common with my life of even 7 months ago. I live in an area I would have never chosen to be, never been before, surrounded by people I would have never chosen to be around, and until I moved here hadnt seen or spoken with for 20 years, and living in some tiny rv- when most of my life I have lived in very large buildings 10000 sqft average. Broke when most of my life life I have done pretty well. Its a very surreal feeling for me.

@cybereality I notice in your posts you have done things I have never have except when I lived in Israel in 1984. I have never used American public transport and I have never been to nightclub. I find this fascinating how different people's lives are.

Has anybody else been so deluged with games that even being offered to be paid to play isnt motivation enough to play? I daily get the free game, sale game lists from various places like humble, gog, steam epic etc. And I cant tell you how hard it is for me to actually give a game a try. Free, paid or even get paid. One day soon I bet algorthms will get to the point they will know exactly what you would like. Currently though its a difficult thing for me.

Anybody else like this?

I find that aging does a lot of those things. I have always been kind of a loner, but lately it's ridiculous. I don't travel like I used to. I would not think anything of picking up and moving to another state when I was younger. Now, no way. I remember reading about Eleanor Roosevelt, who got very old, and her best friend was her old house keeper. That's all she knew who was still alive. I never liked large buildings and never lived in one. I built the house I live in and it's 20 ft by 20 ft, 2stories, but I only use the downstairs. If my house burned down, I would build the next one 10ft x 10ft because it still seems like a waste of space.

So, you experienced hell. You grinded to no avail only to grind another day. Your Gameboy died and you forgot to save, so to speak. My dreams even when they are mundane at least have something interesting going on. I wonder what that says about both our psyches or cognitive states. I love dreams, but if I talk about that, that's a long rant and I still have an animation state function to work on.

Yeah, hell would probably be going to a boring job on a Monday, and then waking up and it's still Monday, and working again... but forever.

I used to be a huge gamer, and I still play some big releases here and there (like I have 200 hours on Cyberpunk) but for the most part it's not that interesting. I don't watch TV either. I just spend my time messing with Godot, or reading books, or tutorial videos on YouTube or Udemy, etc. I do love games, and I still buy a bunch cause I want to support the developers. But I have more important stuff to do with my time.

I grew up in New York City, so I was exposed to a lot of culture and traveled around a bit on the East coast. I lived in Japan for a month, and explored Europe for GodotCon 2020 right before COVID hit. Moved out to California for years, did the Silicon Valley thing, but it wasn't really for me (though it did pay well) and then decided to move to Portland and live a more relaxed life.

On the other hand, it would be ideal if you could spend all day working at a boring job while sleeping, then wake up and go home with no memory of how you spent your day.

I had that job once and it was terrible. It was being dead. I seriously do not fit into the corporate world. When I saw this video below I literally thought they based this on an actual meeting I had.

Well you can if you lucid dream. There have actually been studies, and you can practice real world skills, such as sports, while dreaming, and it actually improves your real world performance. In fact, I often get answers for programming problems and algorithms while I sleep. I'll just think carefully about the issue before bed, go to sleep and then I might wake up in the middle of the night with the solution. It really works.

I solve programming problems in the shower. At least for my own projects, at work I need to solve problems on the fly while looking at another person's screen. (The joy of being a programming teacher)

This is what I was able to do in Godot 4.0. Bought some models to test and setup the whole thing in about 4 hours. There are still tons of issues in Godot 4.0, but I was able to get a decent render.

Don't you hate those binge eating things that happen? I was doing really good just eating 3 meals a day and then it got really cold, I live in Wisconsin, and I felt like I was starving all the time. Gained weight. Now I'm just getting back to normal and I'm back to my daily routine.

That lighting just looks excellent, cyber. I'm not going to look at it till beta, though.

Yeah, I can have problems with eating. I'm always hungry. Been on a diet now for about 6 months, it's working okay, but I get tired of eating the same thing basically all the time. It's hard.

Thanks, yeah, it turned out okay, even with all the bugs. I'm not going to bother to do anything serious with the 4.0 alpha, just wanted to post something impressive to inspire people. But it's way too early and unstable, even basic stuff doesn't even work, it's impossible to get anything done. But it's important people test and report bugs, so that the beta and stable release are actually stable. Most of the bugs I found were known issues, @Calinou responded to me on Reddit, so they know about it.

Yeah, what happened was I wanted something different and started making grilled cheese sandwiches. They are so easy and taste so good, I totally lost control. I have a pretty same diet for 2 meals a day, breakfast and lunch, because I don't care that much. I switch between about 5 or 6 meals for supper. If I get hungry at night I eat carrots. Did you ever taste organic carrots compared to poisoned ones? It's night and day. No more grilled cheese, though. It was really good for a while but not worth the weight gain. I know there are all kinds of diets, but I find that the worst combination possible is a high carb like bread, with a fat like cheese or oil. I can have whole grain bread, noodles, or brown rice if it's not with something fatty, but mix those two and it's all over.

Yeah, I used to subscribe to this organic meal service. You still had to cook the food yourself and prepare it, but they sent you the recipes and the perfect portion of ingredients. And the food was delicious. Better than any restaurant I have ever been to (and I've been to a lot of good restaurants, living in New York City). Amazing quality food and very healthy too.

Except I don't like cooking. It took too long and the cleanup and everything, it was too much. I use a prepared meal service now, they sent me precooked meals, I just have to heat them up in 2 minutes. The food obviously isn't as good as cooked food, but it is keto and healthy and only takes 2 minutes, so I can spend more time playing with Godot.
