Yes, I understand @Nerdzmasterz . Game programming is hard because it is not one thing. You have to be a programmer, and artist, a sound designer, a game designer, graphic design, UI and UX, visual FX, write a story. It's a ton of stuff to make a good game. And a lot of beginners download Unity or Godot or Unreal or whatever and think they are going to make the next World of Warcraft on the first go (I've made this mistake a long time ago). So you have to learn to walk before you can run.
In terms of the Godot doc tutorial, it's kind of in a weird place. It seems more for people that have a little experience (let's say with Unity) that don't know anything about Godot. It is not for people with no experience at all, and it's kind of overly complicated at that. I think it would be better to have a ball bouncing, or a square that jumps when you press the space bar. Super basic. It could even be text based, and just have some print statements, but this is probably not very exciting for a 2D/3D game engine. But that would be better if you never programmed before.
I've actually been working on a Godot tutorial website. I started it last year, but I have been way too busy with school and my personal projects to get much done. I really only have 1 tutorial so far. I graduate in September, so I plan to do this more full time, and also write a book for Godot 4.0. And I'm also working on an indie game I will talk about later (just concepting the design right now). So I have a lot going on. But I've been programming for like 25 years, and helping people on the forum, so I know how to teach.
I didn't want to promote the site yet until the official launch, but I guess I can share with you all and get some feedback. Please check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks.
