In this case the editor navigation tools will tell you which axes you are looking (here I am referring to the gizmo thing in the upper right hand corner of the scene-view, the one with the xyz axes).
The problem I have is the gizmo doesn't tell you the axis' direction. For example: Z+ and Z- look identical
It is a real headache to have to drop compass landmarks in a scene simply to stay oriented
Looking in the inspector can be a real hassle and distraction because that means stopping what I am focusing on, selecting the node, then scrolling scrolling scrolling, clicking clicking clicking until I get to the transform section to view the transform data
