Hi, I just had my first plugin accepted in the asset library: https://godotengine.org/asset-library/asset/769

I would love to have some feedbacks on the usability of the tool and some advices or requests on how to make it more efficient.

There is no virus, it's just the license is viral in nature so you will be stuck with the license for your application if you use the plugin. Nothing strictly wrong with that, but everyone needs to consider with care if the license will fit their project and targets.

I think that every code should be open sourced (that is why such a virus would save the world).

Nevertheless, this is the first plugin I ever made for Godot and I understand that this could be a problem for some users. What is Godot recommendation for plugins? MIT ?

If you feel that GPL is the right license for work you've made then GPL is the right one for your work. My mentioning of the one potential issue with it for others to consider wasn't meant to pressure you to change it.

But yes generally MIT is considered the best choice here to sort of follow in the spirit of the Godot Engines licensing.

I don't feel any pressure and I am willing to contribute to the Godot project and help others. I do not want my ideology bias to get in the way of this objective.

I do think this plugin is a very useful one, at least one that I was in need of and that somebody else could have the need of. If MIT license helps the spread of it, I'll be glad, and I probably will change the license in the next version, the coming week, to MIT.

I am thankful for your insights and understanding, this helps feeling at ease in the Godot family. ATN
