Renaming a folder caused all scenes inside said folder to become "broken"

So i renamed a folder from "Item" to consumables. After doing so, I cannot open any of the scenes inside. It gives me the following error: "Load failed due to missing dependencies:" and then lists another scene from that folder, even tho scenes from that folder were never related (they were not instanced inside one another).

If i click "open anyway", it says it can't "Missing <file> or dependencies. If i click fix dependencies, it lists a bunch of scenes and I can't replace the one it says its missing.

So what i do now? De-renaming the folder doesn't work.

When I say I cant replace the missing dependency: I find the file its asking, click ok but nothing changes (still missing dependency).

It is a bit unintuitive, but you need to fix the missing dependencies by assigning the dependencies listed to the correct files and then click “open anyway”.

What you need to do is click “fix dependencies” and reassign all of the assets to their proper files. Then, once you have them all properly selected, click fix broken, which will bring you back to the dialog box with the choices to fix decencies, cancel, and open anyway. Click “open anyway” and if everything was reassigned correctly, it should now be fixed.

That said, be sure to make a backup of the project and/or commit the project to source control so you can revert if you missed a dependency.

Thanks for the response I reassigned all dependencies. The fix broken button is grayed out and doensn't work, even after i've done the fixing. Open anyway still tells me dependencies are wrong. I updated from godot 3.2.1 to 3.2.3 and now, after reassigning all dependencies, the fix broken is still grayed out but open anyway now says "Unexpected end of file"

It's not ideal, but if the scene files affected are .tscn files, you can open them using a text editor and manually changing the folder name to the correct name. As long as there is nothing else in the scene that would have the same name as the folder, you can use a find and replace function to replace the old name of the folder with the new one without having to manually alter each filepath by hand.

It is strange that the fix dependencies stuff is not working though...
