Both that and the GDScript reference page makes assumptions that the reader has an understanding of programming and / or scripting languages, could anyone give me suggestions on GDScript guides that are for TOTAL beginners? Thank you for your time.
Welcome to the forums @Brendle!
I do not know of any right off, unfortunately. I might suggest learning Python, which is extremely similar to GDScript, as a way to learn the basics of programming. Python is a great first programming language and because of its similarities to GDScript, transitioning between them should be relatively seamless.
For Python learning material, I would suggest the Hello World! book. I used it back when I first started to program and I highly recommend it, as it introduces many programming concepts while also making simple games using Python, which back when I started, was a win-win.
(Though to be fair, when I started I was around 11 and I have not read the book since... So, yeah, it might be worth Googling "Beginner Python Programming" as well)
(Apologies, I only just saw after posting this that there is a Programming thread. I can't delete or move this post now, I should have posted it in that thread)
No worries. Something strange has happened with your account or the posts you make, as Vanilla (the forum software we use) doesn't allow me to move it either, despite being an admin... This has also happened with another user. Something to look into in the future I suppose.
Edit: Fixed it and moved the discussion to the Programming category
