Thanks Peidorrento.I forgot to mention here that, for the sake of simplicity, the blue car appearing into the video was controlled by AI too.Camera smoothing is disabled for AI. But when controlled by a human, the camera and the car don't turn together at the very same time. Turning is slightly smoother.I could have enabled it for AI controlled cars, but I forgot. Also, I'm thinking about making this project open-source.This game prototype make NO use of Godot's physics engine. All the physics and collisions are computed the old school way in gdscript. Also, in case you did not notice already, except the cars, there is nothing in "3D" into the map.I wanted to use and experiment some visual effects close to the original Fzero games. The map is thus composed of several layers of flat sprites. (edit : however, it is absolutely possible to add 3D elements)If there are enough peoples interested in making it opensource, I'll publish it on github, will document the code a little better, and document the process to create maps. (edit : I've added a poll to this topic)
